Stepping Out in Faith (Conclusion)

When we move in faith, we discover that God is already there. As Paul writes to the Philippians in chapter 4:19, “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” God is indeed faithful.

But sometimes people think that if they step out in faith, everything will become easy.

Faith does not guarantee any of us an easy life. Faith often includes:

  • Waiting
  • Enduring Trials
  • Delays
  • Opposition
  • Disappointments
  • And even Spiritual battles

But even in difficulty, God remains faithful. As James tells us in chapter 12-3, “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” God uses trials to strengthen our faith. A faith that has never been tested is a faith that has never grown.

The greatest growth often happens when we trust God through hardship. The greatest act of faith is not starting a ministry or moving somewhere new; the greatest act of faith is trusting Jesus Christ for salvation.

John 6:28 says, And they said to him, ‘What shall we do so that we may work the works of God?” Jesus answered and said to them, “This is a work of God that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

Everything begins with faith in Christ. Know that God is still calling us to step out in faith.

Maybe He is calling you right now to trust Him in a new area of your life.

Maybe He is calling you to:

  • Surrender your future
  • to Obey His Word
  • to Leave our fears behind
  • to Forgive someone
  • to start something new
  • to end something that is unhealthy
  • to share your faith
  • to trust Him in suffering
  • AND Follow Him more closely

We may not know all the details. We may not feel ready. We may not know exactly how things will work out. But remember, God does not ask us to figure everything out. He asks us to trust Him. Joshua 1:19 tells us, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

And Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “The Lord goes before you. He will be with you, He will not forsake you, do not be afraid—do not be discouraged.” The same God who called Abraham, the same God that sustained Moses, and strengthened David, and rescued Peter, and raised Jesus from the dead is in us today.

Take a deep breath and take the next step. Trust Him and walk by faith. Lord, thank You for speaking to us through Your Word today. Help us carry these truths into our daily lives, walk in faith, and honor You in all we do. In Jesus’ name, amen.

This is part four of an edited version of a message I presented in church on Sunday, April 19, 2026.
